Our AI professional curriculum, tailored for high school students, integrates seamlessly with the Waterloo School of Austin's project-based entrepreneurial program. Students learn to develop innovative products while leveraging AI tools to assist their entrepreneurial process—from ideation and market research to product development and launch—cultivating both technical literacy and business acumen for real-world success.
Meet the instructorS
Bryce Carlise
As Waterloo's Director of Development, Mr. Carlisle leads all coaching and mentoring work, meeting regularly with every student throughout the year in a kind of academic tutoring role. Prior to Waterloo, Bryce taught and served as Faculty Dean and director of the Senior Thesis Program at Regents School of Austin. He also worked in home construction as a customer service representative at Pulte Group Inc., and taught humanities for two years at Trinity Academy in Raleigh, North Carolina. He has a bachelor of arts in Spanish from The University of Kansas and an MDiv from Princeton Theological Seminary. Bryce and his wife Lorie have five lively boys and attend First Baptist Church, Dripping Springs.

Eric Freeman, PhD
Eric Freeman is the CTO & Head of Digital at WickedlySmart, where he bridges the gap between learning and innovation. As an adjunct faculty member at The University of Texas at Austin, he teaches Foundations in Creative Coding, focusing on experimentation, collaboration, and design thinking. Over at O'Reilly Media, he has authored multiple best-selling books—including the 20-year perennial bestseller and Jolt Award–winning Head First Design Patterns—and frequently leads both introductory and advanced software development training. Previously Eric served as an executive at The Walt Disney Company, acting as CEO of Disney Online and overseeing all technical responsibilities for the company's online brand.
